“RESOLVE"for the Virginia Military Institute 2016
Final Print Image for the 2nd  Historical Lineage Print for VMI released in February of 2017. The intent of this 2nd print is to cover the time period from World War II through present-day.

Items illustrated are the Cadet Barracks as it exists today with the recent additional of a third barracks along with the VMI Band Company marching in Scottish garb playing bagpipes.  Historically, there exists an image of General George C. Marshall ’01 who authored the Marshall Plan for post-war Europe.  Also depicted is the iconic statue of General “Stonewall” Jackson overlooking cannons known as Mathew, Mark, Luke, & John positioned at the edge of the VMI Parade Deck.  The print depicts a Rat Sentry, Cadets negotiating an obstacle course, as well as Rats tackling the muddy & grueling “Break-Out Hill”.   Finally, in the background, one notices Jackson Arch with the famous inscription “You May Be Whatever You Resolve To Be.”

All Prints & Artist Proofs are Signed, Numbered, & Embossed.  The Original pencil collage (from which the lithographs will be produced) is also available.  To make inquiries on the Original work, please contact Mr. Solovey ‘96 at soloveyart@earthlink.net to discuss availability & pricing.
